                                                        IMPROVEMENTS
We won 2nd place in the competition, so we made improvements of the robot for the final championship. Here are improvements we made for the robot:

  • The robot can now follow the white line.
  • The robot is now on a black platform.
  • The robot is moving on a street (it is a new setting than before.)
  • The robot moves in a new kind of way.
  • The robot's program changed.

The robot is the interactive robot butler. The robot which we named Robo Bob hands out candy.

  • We used the NXT-G programming language and the Tetrix motors for the robot.
  • To start our robot you need to press the touch sensor and then the magic begins.
  • The robot moves forward and stops when the ultrasonic sensor senses an object in front of the robot; then causes the robot to say "welcome to Robofest."
  • When the a person in front of the robot takes the piece of candy off the tray, the tray goes up and the dowel goes down due to the load being lifted off of the tray, and hits the touch sensor on the inside of the robot which triggers the sound block, saying "Bye, have a great day."
  • After the robot says "bye have a great day," the robot makes a 90 degree turn, and then moves towards home base, stopping when the ultra-sonic sensor senses an object.
  • Then the program ends
